Self Collect book service in the Radcliffe Camera.
The Self Collect shelves in the Radcliffe Camera are split between the Lower Camera Reading Room and the Upper Gladstone Link due to space constraints. Books are shelved alphabetically according to your Self Collect ID as follows:
A-K: Lower Camera central area
L-O: Lower Camera, opposite the enquiry desk.
P-Z: Upper Gladstone Link
Any readers wishing to use a staff mediated service point should order closed access material to the Upper Reading Room in the Old Library.

The Self Collect point for Upper Reading Room is located on the north side, adjacent to the central Staffed Reserve Desk.
The Self Collect point for Lower Reading Room is located at the north end, in the General Reference Room near the Main Enquiry Desk.
The staff mediated book service point in the middle of Lower Reading Room has been closed. The staff mediated book service point for Upper Reading Room remains in the centre of the reading room.
What does Self Collect book service mean?
Readers who order material from the Closed Stack to be delivered to a Self Collect point will be able to collect these items directly from the shelves without having to wait for a member of staff to hand them on. These books cannot be borrowed and are for consultation within the library only. Please see the list of Frequently Asked Questions for detailed information on this service.
How do I use the Self Collect service?
To request items to the Radcliffe Camera Self Collect point choose "Radcliffe Camera (Lower)" as your delivery location when placing a hold request for an item in SOLO. To use the Self Collect point in the Lower Reading Room please choose "Lower RR Self-Collect". You will receive an email when your book arrives, which is usually within 24 hours or less.
Books will stay on the shelves for one week, after which they will be automatically returned to the closed stack. You can renew your items via 'My Account' on SOLO. A maximum of 10 books can be ordered at a time due to space constraints.
You may use these books anywhere within the library, including the Radcliffe Camera, Gladstone Link and Old Bodleian Library reading rooms. Readers should refile items they wish to see again at the correct point in the sequence on the Self Collect shelves. Any items that are for return to the closed stack should be left on the labelled trolley near the Self Collect shelves in Lower Camera, or handed to staff at the issue/enquiry desk. Please note, items requested to Self Collect shelves cannot be borrowed.
Some items are not suitable for request to Self Collect points due to format, age, size etc. If SOLO does not offer Self Collect delivery locations as options when you place a hold request, that particular item will need to be ordered to a staff mediated delivery location. The closest of these will be Upper Reading Room in the Old Bodleian Library.
All items requested to Self Collect points come with a hold request slip, which should stay with the item at all times. For reasons of privacy, slips for Self Collect items display the reader's Self Collect ID. This is made up of the first 3 digits of the reader's surname and the last 4 numbers of the University/Library card barcode.

All items a reader orders to a particular Self Collect point will be filed together on the shelves under that reader's Self Collect ID. The groups of items for different readers will then be filed by Self Collect ID.
