We want longer evening and weekend opening hours in the Law Library.

We did

We have extended weekend opening hours during term-time to 10:00-19:00 on both Saturday and Sunday, supported by sponsorship. We have extended term-time evening opening hours into 9th and 10th weeks of Trinity Term to accommodate the BCL/MJur exams.

We did

We have extended opening hours to 9:00-18:00 Monday-Friday during weeks 0-9, instead of closing at 17:00 on Fridays and throughout week 0 and week 9.

We now open 11:00-17:00 on Saturdays during weeks 0-8, thanks to a grant from the Nissan Benefaction.

We did

We extended term-time opening of the Bodleian Library to include Sundays 11:00-17:00, as well as extending opening hours in the Bodleian Japanese Library, the Music Faculty Library and the Vere Harmsworth Library.

The forthcoming consolidation of the Slavonic & Modern Greek Library (TABS) into the Taylor Institution Library will give longer opening hours for TABS readers and support later closing in the Taylorian in Long Vacations.

We were unable to extend the opening hours of the Oriental Institute Library and Sackler Library because the proposed integration of OIL was rejected by the Faculties.

We did

The Social Science Library extended their Sunday opening during term-time by two hours to 11:00-19:00.

We did

Following discussions with the CLiPS, we extended Saturday opening hours in Trinity Term to 10:00-16:00 (instead of 10:00-14:00).

We want longer opening hours in the Radcliffe Science Library.

We did

We have undertaken extensive investigation of the use of the RSL, including a survey of Science and Medicine staff and students, focus groups, statistical analysis and occupancy counts. The results indicate that the opening hours of the RSL are not the underlying problem. We are in the early design stages of a major re-development of the RSL to produce a science library that meets the current and future needs of readers.

English Faculty postgraduates need access to books over weekends.

We did

We have increased the number of loans for postgraduates from the EFL from 12 to 15.

You said

We want the book collection in the Cairns Library to be open longer.

We did

We surveyed medical students and other groups who use the Cairns Library about opening hours and access to the book collection. As a result we have increased the provision of e-books, so readers can access the content 24/7/365.
