Databases
Searching the medical literature
The following databases can also be accessed and cross-searched through OxLIP+, the complete list of Oxford University's databases, online reference works, and e-journal and e-book packages.

- Scopus: covers 15,000 journals, plus web sources and patents across science & medicine. Includes major medical databases Medline (USA) and Embase (Europe).
- Web of Knowledge: platform for Web of Science (Science Citation Index, Conference Proceedings), Journal Citation Reports (impact factors), plus databases Medline & BIOSIS.
- PubMed: with links to Free Full Text & Oxford's licensed full text.
There are a range of clinical databases available to staff who have an NHS Athens username and password through NHS Evidence Health Information Resources (formerly National Library for Health).
- NHS Evidence Health Information Resources These databases are: Medline, Cinahl, Psycinfo, Embase, Amed, British Nursing Index, HMIC (Health Management Information Consortium).

- Index to Theses: UK theses since 1716.

Journals
Finding journals
- University of Oxford Journals:
OxLIP+ e-Journals provides online access to hundreds of health science titles. You can find journals via this link from any computer connected to the University of Oxford network (available for all HCL Memebers in the Cairns Library and Knowledge centre)
You can submit suggestions for e-journals via the University Proposals Database. - NHS Journals
NHS Evidence Health Information Resources My Journals provides access to over 800 full-text journals, via national and local subscriptions. Remember to log in for locally purchased journals, such as the British Journal of Nursing and the Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin.
You will need an NHS Athens username and password.
NHS staff can submit suggestions for e-journals via the NLH feedback form.
