Rights and responsibilities
Your right:

· Not to bring food and drink into the library
· Not to use mobile phones in the library
· To repect other readers' needs for quiet and privacy.
Your right:

· To scan your card for each entry to and exit from the library
· To collect your card within one month of registering
· Not to allow others to use your card.
Your rights:
· Access to book collections at each library
· You can have up to 10 books on loan at a time (if your membership is alllows you to borrow)
· You can renew books that are not reserved by other readers usng the 24-hour answerphone (21936), emailing hcl-renewals@bodleian.ox.ac.uk or via the library catalogue
· You can reserve items that are on loan to other readers (if your membership is alllows you to borrow)
Your responsibilities:
· To ensure that all books and journals you take out of the libraries are issued to you
· Not to lend books you have borrowed to others
· To return or renew all items on time, and return all items if you going overseas
· To clear fines before renewing or borrowing items. Fines are 50p per day per item
· To return items that have been reserved by another reader
· To ensure that all outstanding fines are cleared and loans are returned if you are no longer eligible for library membership. Students will not be able to graduate until all outstanding fines are cleared or items returned
· Not to remove pages from books or journals or to damage library stock.
Your right:
· You have access to computers to search health care databases, the Internet and electronic journals.
Your responsibilities:
· To use the library computers for work or study-related purposes only
· To give priority to those wishing to use the online databases
Your right:
· Access to the Internet via library websites, with links to health-related resources
Your responsibilities:
· To adhere to the Oxford University Computer Usage Rules - misuse of library computers will result in loss of membership
· Not to download software onto library computers
· To comply with a staff request to vacate a library computer
Your right:
· Access to self-service photocopying and printing facilities, using the University rechargable photocopy/printing card
Your responsibilities:
· To comply with the limits of the Copyright Designs and Patents Act as displayed
· Not to use acetates or overhead film in the photocopiers and printers
Your rights:
· Access to material held by other libraries via the Document Supply Service
· Access to the urgent request service at a higher rate (£10.50 per item) for material required within 24 hours (week days only)
Your responsibilities:
· To complete a Copyright Declaration form for each request made
· To pay in advance for each requrest or to register via your department for payment by departmental account
Your rights:
· Acquire or develop your literature searching skills in our regular training sessions, or arrange a small group workshop tailored to your needs
· Teach yourself search skills using our searching guides
· Use the Enquiry Service for expert support in locating information or undertaking literature searches
· Receive regular updates on areas of particular interest via our Current Awareness service
Your responsibility:
