Joining the library

Admission tothe Bodleian Health Care Libraries or Radcliffe Science Library  requires you to use either a University Card or a Bodleian Libraries reader's card. Please read the following sections for details on how to join the Bodleian Health Care Libraries.

 

You can join the Bodleian Health Care Libraries if you are associated with the following organisations:

  • Oxford University Hospitals Trust all staff
  • Oxford University Medical Sciences Division staff and students
  • Doctors in Training within Oxfordshire
  • Oxford Brookes University Faculty of Health and Life Sciences staff and students have reference access. Application forms are available at the Cairns Library, JR Hospital.

Please contact us for details of how you can join if you work for another healthcare-related organisation in Oxfordshire.

When you join us you will need to provide:

  • An appropriate ID badge (hospital staff), or an appropriate university ID
  • Contact details (work or course of study)
  • The name of your administrator or supervisor.

You will be asked to complete a Registration form, and we will need to take a photo of you if you do not already have a University card or a Bodleian Libraries  card. Registrations are taken 9am-4.50pm Monday to Friday, with the exception of Wednesday 10am-4.50pm.

Your new library card will be ready for you to collect within two working days. You'll need to collect your card during staffed hours (Monday-Friday 9am-7pm; Wednesday 10am-7pm), and you will need to re-register if you don't collect your card within one month.
