OUH Trust Athens Access

Please note that NHS Athens Accounts are associated with the old ORH and NOC Trusts and will remain like that for a few months until locally purchased e-resource issues have been resolved.
Access to some resources is only possible with an ORH affiliated NHS Athens Account.

Athens is an access mechanism for electronic resources. NHS staff can apply for an NHS Athens username and password. The NHS Athens login will give you access to electronic resources that have been bought with NHS funding.

Once you have your Athens username and password, please go to MyAthens to see a list of the resources that are available to you.

Registering for an NHS Athens username and password

To register for an NHS Athens username and password, you will need to be employed by the NHS in the UK.
Go to NHS Evidence Health Information Resources (formerly National Library for Health) and click on Register here. You will be required to fill in an online form. If you register on an OUHNet computer and/or with an NHS email address an account activation email will be sent to you straight away. Otherwise an account activation email should be emailed to you within two weeks.

Has your NHS Athens account expired?

To renew your NHS Athens account, email hcl-athens@bodleian.ox.ac.uk with the following information:

  • Your current work details, if different
  • You current contract details, if different.
