Requests & reservations

Reserving books at the Education Library

If all lending copies of a book are checked-out, you may place a reservation, also known as a hold, through SOLO. (See the SOLO guide for detailed instructions.)

You will be notified by email when your requested book is ready for collection; you will then have five working days in which to collect it. Reserved books awaiting collection may be consulted by any reader in the library on the condition that they are returned to the desk immediately if required for collection.

Requesting Bodleian material to the Education Library

The Library is a Bodleian Reading Room so you can request material held in other Bodleian Libraries' stacks for reference use in the Education Library. See the Holds, requests and reservations section of the SOLO guide for detailed instructions. You can also request material from the Bodleian's Closed Stack. During the week, daily deliveries are made from the Book Storage Facility. You can also make use of the Scan & Deliver service to request a particular chapter or article from material kept in the Book Storage Facility.
