Using a Laptop
Readers can connect to the internet in all central Bodleian reader spaces by using the wireless network.
More information about using the central Bodleian's wireless network is given by the Bodleian Libraries' Wireless in Reading Rooms page.
In addition, most reader seats in the following reading rooms have data points to which laptops can be connected to the library network using a standard data cable:
Duke Humfrey's Library
Lower Camera Reading Room
Lower Reading Room
Upper Reading Room
Information on how to connect the central Bodleian's physical network is given on our Ethernet page. Please bring your own data cable if you intend to use ethernet.
It is the responsibility of readers to configure their computers to enable them to connect to the Library networks; reading room staff cannot provide any technical assistance.
Guidance for current members of the University of Oxford (blue card holders) on how to access electronic resources from outside the Oxford University network is given by the remote access page. Library members who are not current members of the University (holders of any other colour card) cannot access electronic resources paid for by Oxford University libraries from outside the libraries.
