Lower Camera, Lower Reading Room, Official Papers Reading Room, Upper Camera, Upper Reading Room

1. Take the book to the staff desk and show it to the member of staff on duty.

2. They will check the book complies with the photocopying regulations (what can I copy myself?)

3. You can then make your copies.

4. Log in or swipe your library card at the copier in order to collect your printing, make copies or scan. The first time you use it, see the ‘how to Guide’ located by the copier for instructions.

If you are not clear about operating the photocopier, staff will be happy to assist you, but will not be able to make copies for you.

Duke Humfrey's Library

1. Take the book to the staff desk, together with your University or library card, and give them to the member of staff on duty.

2. They will make a preliminary check that the book complies with the photocopying regulations (what can I copy myself?).

3. The member of staff will then place a coloured marker in the book and hand it back to you.

4. You can then take the book to the copiers in the Lower Reading Room (adjacent to Main Enquiry Desk).

5. Log in or swipe your library card at the copier in order to make copies or scan. The first time you use it, see the ‘how to Guide’ located by the copier for instructions.

6. When you have finished, please return the book to the staff desk and your University or library card will be returned to you.

If you are not clear about operating the photocopier, staff will be happy to assist you, but will not be able to make copies for you.

Under no circumstances may you take a book out of any building.

If you are found taking a book out of a building, you will be dealt with under normal security procedures. We will not accept any explanation that you intended to take the book for photocopying. Books may not be transferred between reading rooms in the same building without the explicit permission of a member of reading room staff.
