Since the beginning of Michaelmas 2012, the Bodleian Library (Old Library, Gladstone Link and Radcliffe Camera including the History Faculty Library) is able to give access to wheelchair users and others with impaired mobility.
Wheelchair users now have level access to the Upper and Lower Reading Rooms in the Old Bodleian, the Upper level of the Gladstone Link, and the Lower Radcliffe Camera. Height adjustable tables are available in all of these areas with the exception of the Lower Radcliffe Camera.
As you will appreciate these listed buildings still pose certain access challenges and it is important that all readers are able to study in a safe environment. Readers with particular access needs should be asked to get in touch with Reader Services staff in advance of their first visit so that we can arrange to hold individual induction and where appropriate complete a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan.
The contact email is firstname.lastname@example.org or, alternatively, readers / enquirers may telephone the Main Enquiry Desk on 01865 277162 to be put in touch with the appropriate staff.
