Individual visit

Behind the scenes at the Bodleian Library

All our guided tours are conducted by our professionally trained volunteer guides.

We are able to take children age 11 and over into the working areas of the Library on these tours. We regret that the guided tours are not recommended for young children.

Guided tours include a large number of stairs and the extended tour especially includes some steep stairs and a substantial amount of walking. However, we can accommodate wheelchair access to general ground floor areas.

There are no concessions.

However, we strongly advise you to contact us in advance of your planned visit as public tours are occasionally cancelled at very short notice.

Please choose from the following options:

"My time on the tour at the Bodleian stands out as one of many splendid memories of my first trip to England!"  (a visitor from overseas)
