Finding Books and Journals

 General

All Library items in Western languages are listed on SOLO, the University’s online library catalogue, whereas Japanese language materials are on the Allegro catalogue.

The main collection is in the open- access Bookstack in the basement, while the reference works are arranged by subject on the perimeter shelves in the Main Reading Room on the ground floor. Many relevant western journals are available online via SOLO.

 Materials offsite

Some of our collection are stored offsite (List of our collection offsite).
 
For Japanese materials offsite, they are marked as 'BJL Nuneham' or 'Book move, apply staff' or 'Remote Storage BSF Swindon, request via SOLO' on Allegro catalogue.

It may take a few days for these books to arrive at BJL.
