Audio tours

Follow the history of the Library from its birth through to the present with a forty minute commentary taking you on your own personal tour of some of the most spectacular architecture to be seen anywhere in the world.

Moving around the external quadrangles and through into the Divinity School, your hand-held audio guide with digital technology is easy to use and allows you to pace the tour according to your schedule, while continuing to interact with others in your group. If you are a family, or have time restrictions on your visit, this is your opportunity to learn a lot quickly!

Please note the audio tour does not include the Library reading rooms (the rooms where books are held)

Times 

Monday to Friday from 09:00, last guides issued at 16:15
Saturday from 09:15, last guides issued 15:30
Sunday from 11:00, last guides issued at 16:15

Please note that access to the site is restricted on days when University functions are held, and you are strongly advised to telephone in advance of your visit to avoid disappointment.

Availability  

All year round, excluding closed days.

Audio tours are sold on the day on a first come first served basis. Generally, individuals and smaller groups don’t need to book.

Single £2.50 per person
Family (2 adults and up to 3 children) £6 per family group  Adults age 16 and over; children age 0-15.

Buy your audio guide tour from the ticket office, which opens at 9 am Monday to Friday inclusive, 9.15am on Saturday, and at 11 am on Sunday.  It is situated at the Great Gate to the Bodleian Library, on Catte Street.
