Reader Services

The Bodleian Libraries provides a wide range of services and facilities to support your research, teaching and learning needs. These range from comprehensive user education programmes, document supply and photocopy services through to information on the use of IT. Details are provided for disabled access.

The Bodleian Libraries are working towards the development of standards to be implemented across individual libraries for many of these services. However, some services and facilities will differ. For example, the Bodleian Library remains a reference only library whereas many other libraries offer lending services. Check the individual libraries' web pages for more information on library-specific services.

Enquiries

If you would like to ask a question about Oxford University libraries, our services or our collections, please use our Ask an Oxford Librarian service.

Alternatively, if you are a Bodleian Libraries member, enquiries can be made at any one of the Bodleian Libraries, where staff will be happy to help you. You can contact the Librarian responsible for your subject, and obtain more information about the libraries and services available in your subject area by visiting the libraries' web pages.

Our enquiry services are provided for registered users of the Bodleian Libraries. We are also happy to respond to reference enquiries from external users only when they relate to Bodleian Libraries' collections and services. Please note that we are not able to undertake detailed research on behalf of enquirers.
